The Benefits of Reflexology

  Calm Therapy Benefits

BENEFITS OF REFLEXOLOGY

Receiving regular reflexology with Jane will encourage you to relax and allow you to unwind.  Reflexology will release stress, anxiety and tension.  A full treatment will stimulate your circulation and immune systems.  This in turn assists with relieving pain, boosts your energy levels and helps to remove toxins from your body.  Treating yourself to regular reflexology can promote good health, emotional wellbeing and vitality.

You really will feel the benefits after regular reflexology!

Reflexology has shown to be effective for:

Allergies and sinus conditions
Back pain and sciatica
PMT, Period problems and menopause
Preconception, infertility, pregnancy
Headache and migraines
IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, crohn’s disease
Chronic fatigue syndrome or ME
Sleeping disorders
Anxiety, stress, tension and pain relief

Reflexology is not a curative or diagnostic treatment.  It aims to alleviate presenting symptoms to allow the body to heal itself and promote emotional wellbeing and vitality.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A FIRST REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT

When coming to visit Jane for an initial treatment at Bodymatters you will be greeted by the receptionist who will ask if you would like some water.  If you arrive early for your appointment you can sit in the consultation room or reception area and relax with a cup of herbal tea and flick through some magazines.

Jane will then introduce herself to you and ask you to join her in her treatment room.

The treatment will begin with a consultation that can last from between 15 minutes to half an hour.  Details about life style and stresses, diet, symptoms of any current and past illnesses or pain will be discussed as well as how you feel emotionally.  You will be given the time to discuss with Jane how reflexology can help you whether it be for relaxation or to help with a particular condition.  Jane will also discuss with you how a course of reflexology will benefit your particular condition.

You will then be asked to take off your shoes and socks and to get onto the treatment couch where Jane will make sure you are comfortable before starting the treatment.

A reflexology treatment can take up to one hour.  During a first treatment Jane will treat all the body systems including skeletal, digestive, endocrine, respiratory and lymphatic.   Following treatments may focus on one or more of these systems and include relaxation techniques all depending on the presenting symptoms.  It is very likely that you will find reflexology very relaxing and will feel the need to close your eyes and drift off.

When the treatment is complete you will be given time to gather yourself and sit up.  Jane will be happy to answer any questions about the treatment.

If you feel you need more time to compose yourself before leaving the clinic you will again be able to sit in the consultation room to enjoy some herbal tea or water.
